I am a resident or fellow who plans to submit a poster for the annual meeting, and I would like my poster to be considered for an oral podium presentation at the meeting during a designated session on the agenda. Note: This is a separate event from the Poster Competition.

Florida Society of Pathologists Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy

COVID 19 Policy:
By registering for the conference, sponsor agrees to adhere to all infectious disease protocols in place during the event, including those imposed by FSP, the venue, the county health department, and any state directives, and if sponsor fails, they consent to be ejected from the conference and the venue with no refund. By registering, sponsor accepts and assumes all risks of in-person participation, including the risk of injury or contracting an infectious disease, including but not limited to COVID-19 exposure.

Assumption of Risk:
I accept and assume all risks of my in-person participation, including the risk of injury or contracting an infectious disease, including but not limited to COVID-19 exposure.

Badge Information:
By allowing an exhibitor to scan the conference badge, attendee understands, agrees and consents to the sharing of attendee's contact information with the company that scanned the conference badge.

Cancellation Policy:
A written notice of cancellation must be received by January 17, 2024 to receive a refund. Cancellations received prior to this date will be honored minus a $100 administration fee. Refunds will not be honored after January 17, 2024. Telephone cancellations cannot be accepted.

We encourage participation by all individuals. If you have a disability, advance notification of any special needs will help us better serve you. Please contact info@flpath.org at least four (4) weeks in advance prior to the event.

Communication, Confirmation and Receipts:
You must provide a valid Email address when you register online to receive a confirmation/receipt. Please remember to check your spam/junk box for confirmation emails and receipts.

Consent
You consent to the photographing and recording of your likeness and voice and the use of these photographs and/or recordings singularly or in conjunction with other photographs and/or recordings for advertising, publicity, commercial or other business purposes.

Florida Society of Pathologists COVID-19 Policy and Waiver of Liability


While participating in-person at the 2024 FSP Annual Conference on February 16-18, 2024, the FSP will follow suggested federal, state, and local preventive measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, the FSP cannot guarantee that participants, attendees, exhibitors, vendors, staff, or others in attendance (“participants”) will not become infected with COVID-19. All participants will be asked to:

  1. Wear masks when and where required
  2. Practice social distancing when and where required
  3. Follow any pathway signage
  4. Follow good personal hygiene practices
  5. Practice self-monitoring & self-reporting
  6. Follow the requirements of the host hotel that are in place at the time of the meeting.
  7. Not travel to or attend the FSP meeting if you are sick or become sick
  8. Take reasonable precautions to ensure your own comfort

I understand the inherent risks of attending the FSP meeting and that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19. By attending the FSP meeting, I am acknowledging that exposure or infection may result in quarantine requirements, serious illness, permanent disability and/or death. I agree to follow all health and safety precautions for the FSP meeting. I also acknowledge that if I choose not to follow the health and safety precautions as outlined by the FSP, the meeting venue and other partners for the FSP, my registration may be canceled, and I may be removed from the meeting with no refund of any related expenses. Introduction
The Florida Society of Pathologists (FSP) Poster Review Committee invites the submission of posters for inclusion in the Poster Hall during the FSP’s 50th Annual Pathology Conference taking place on February 16-18, 2024 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando, Florida.  

The purpose of the FSP Poster Hall is to stimulate research, provide a venue to share innovative and effective educational programs, showcase unique research projects, and to encourage networking among pathologists.

All pathologists are invited to submit case-based posters or research-based posters for inclusion in the Poster Hall. Residents and fellows are eligible to compete in the FSP Poster Competition for prizes.

Back by popular demand, residents and fellows who are enrolled in a full-time approved training program in pathology or sub-specialty of pathology in the state of Florida are invited to submit and be eligible to participate in the FSP Poster Competition.

The poster author must register for the conference and pay a poster fee of $50 (included on the registration form). All e-posters must be submitted online once the submission portal opens. If your poster is not selected for display in the poster hall, FSP will provide a refund of this fee. Please add @flpath.org to your email "safe senders" or whitelist to ensure you receive important notifications from FSP.

Please read through the submission instructions below before preparing your poster:

  1. Register for the Conference and pay the meeting registration and $50 poster fee.If you wish to submit more than 1 poster, you can indicate this on the meeting registration form.
  2. Submit your e-poster on this website through the online submission portal.

 

Please note, within the submission portal, you will be able choose and download a PowerPoint slide template. To download the templates to create your e-poster, click on the links below:

General Information and Policies:

  • Lead authors on all submissions are required to register for the conference and pay the applicable registration and poster fee.
  • Residents, fellows and students participating in the Poster Competition are required to present their poster in the Poster Hall on either Friday, February 16 or Saturday, February 17. All other pathologists submitting posters are not required to present their poster but are encouraged to be participate during poster viewing hours to answer questions from conference attendees.
  • Lead authors on all submissions are required to pay a $50 submission fee for each poster. Multiple posters may be submitted.
  • It is the responsibility of the submitter to ensure that his/her poster is submitted correctly.
  • Full disclosure of all authors must be provided by the time of submission. Any failure to fully comply with this requirement may result in the poster being withdrawn.
  • If judges deem that a poster must be edited or updated to be eligible for presentation, lead authors will be contacted by email.

 

Content Guidelines
Poster entries can only be accepted electronically and must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Posters must have one central theme, include essential data and test, and be visually appealing.
  • Posters must be proofread carefully to avoid errors before submission.
  • Posters must contain generic drug names only.
  • Posters must be submitted in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of quality suitable for publication.
  • Lead and secondary authors must disclose all financial relationships.
  • Any funding support for the research must be disclosed.
  • Encore research is not eligible for submission.
  • A maximum of 4 references are allowed.
  • Posters must not contain hyperlinks, videos, GIF files, and must be one slide only.

 

Checklist
You will be asked for the following:

  • Short poster title (40-character title for use on onsite signage)
  • Author name(s)
  • Financial disclosures
  • Disclosure of funding support
  • Topic
  • Payment of registration and submission fee

 

The online poster submission does not allow you to save and return to resume later. Therefore, before starting your submission, have all materials and information ready. After the poster is submitted, you will receive an automated email to confirm your submission. If you do not receive the email within 24 hours, please contact the FSP office at posters@flpath.org or call 904-309-6261.

The poster must relate to an appropriate topic in the field of pathology. Poster authors will be required to indicate which topic BEST matches the content of their poster. Topics are:

Poster Competition Eligibility
Authors must be a resident or fellow enrolled in a full-time approved training program in pathology or sub-specialty of pathology in the state of Florida to be eligible to participate in the FSP Poster Competition.

 

Poster Competition Presentation Process and Awards
Posters submitted for the Poster Competition by residents and fellows will be pre-judged and selected by FSP judges based on quality, innovation, approach/design, and visuals. Posters will be judged twice and are subject to an additional preliminary review to determine eligibility. If judges deem that changes need to be made for posters to be eligible for presentation, lead authors will be contacted by email. The first judging will be done before the conference, and it will be a blind review. The second judging will be conducted during the poster presentation live at the conference in the FSP Poster Hall. The scores from both judging sessions will be combined to determine the winners. The first-place winner will receive $500, the second-place winner will receive $250, and the third-place winner will receive $150. To be considered for the competition, you must you must be a resident or fellow and you must submit your poster by the submission deadline. 

Onsite judging times will be assigned for residents and fellows that are participating in the Poster Competition, and authors will be notified of their presentation time. Presentation times will occur on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18 so please make plans to be available on both days. All lead poster authors are required to register for the conference taking place on February 17-19, 2023 at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando to present their poster to judges.*

Winners of the Poster Competition will be announced, and prizes will be awarded on Saturday, February 18.

Rare and Interesting Case Competition

 

Pathology is fun, but it can also be hard! Every day, we are faced with challenging cases that require us to open books, read new articles, consult our friends and colleagues, and sometimes consult the experts. To share such cases with our membership, we will be holding our 3rd annual Rare & Interesting Case Conference at our winter FSP meeting and we need your help!

Residents and fellows are all encouraged to submit their rare and interesting cases for a chance to present at the FSP 2024 Annual Meeting.
