FSP Launches New Mentorship Program

We are excited to announce that the FSP has developed a new Mentorship Program. The FSP Mentorship Program is designed to connect FSP Resident and Fellow members with experienced pathologists that are members of the FSP. The program provides mentees an opportunity to interact with pathology experts from diverse backgrounds, practice settings, and geographic regions, as well as the opportunity to gain valuable guidance and career advice to help during the transition from training to practice.

Mentees can select up to three mentor candidates from the list of FSP Mentors and will be matched with Mentors based on the information gathered through the application process.

Goals of the Mentorship Program

• Provide long lasting professional relationships that last beyond the program
• Provide opportunities for personal, professional and leadership development
• Provide opportunities for residents and fellows to grow within the FSP and to serve in FSP leadership roles

Expectations of the Mentorship Program

• Establish the preferred communication channel and frequency in which you will communicate
• Commit to regular check-ins through preferred communication channel
• Stay engaged during the length of the mentorship relationship
• Meet in person one time a year at the FSP Conference in February during the Mentor Networking Event
