What is your current role?
My current role is as a laboratory director for a plasma company. I am also an adjunct professor at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.
What is the best part of your occupation?
It's versatility in roles you may be able to play.
How did you become interested in pathology?
I went to medical school to go into the field of pathology since I fell in love with histology in college.
How did you become involved with the FSP?
When I moved to Florida from Maryland, I was seeking a connection to the professional community in Florida and came upon the Florida Society of Pathologists and their fabulous meetings.
Explain how you benefit from being a member of FSP.
I enjoy attending the annual and semi-annual meetings to learn about new topics in my field.
What would you like to see occur in the field of pathology (i.e., scientific advances, greater awareness of the field, etc.) during your career?
I realize that genetics have acquired a major role in our field and look forward to the integration of traditional pathology with this evolving area.
What are your hobbies outside of the office?
I enjoy oil and acrylic painting, drawing, reading and exercising.
What is something surprising that most people do not know about you?
I love to travel!
