The 2020 Legislative Session adjourned Sine Die on Thursday, March 19 after extending the Session for purposes of passing a budget.
This was indeed a rough and tumble Session with many issues addressed including attempts to, once again, tie your reimbursement for pathology services to a percentage of Medicare which ultimately failed passage. However, one of the most significant issues that House Leadership has pushed unsuccessfully for eight years, the autonomous practice of APRN’s and test and treat allowances for pharmacists, was ultimately passed and immediately signed by the governor.
The most comprehensive summary of this legislation was sent out by the Florida Medical Association, who we worked tirelessly with during Session, to defeat these measures. Please see the link here for a comprehensive summary of both measures. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your FSP Leadership with any questions.
