What is your current role?
I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Florida, Gainesville. I am also the Unit Director for Gynecologic Pathology. I am also an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Pathology Department at Father Muller's Medical College, Mangalore, India.

What is the best part of your occupation?
I am passionate about teaching and have ample opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Sharing ideas and discussing practical aspects of pathology is one of the best parts of my occupation. Also, having a very supportive team helps me put my best foot forward.

How did you become interested in pathology?
Exposure to pathology rotations during medical school with great teachers/educators motivated me to pursue pathology as my profession. As you progress in the field, the more you realize how one's decisions as a pathologist would influence lives and the treatment of patients. This provides a great sense of responsibility associated with the satisfaction of performing at one's best.

How did you become involved with the FSP?
As I moved to Florida to pursue my career, I was introduced to FSP through experienced members who provided commendable insights regarding its years of success and its educational activities.

Explain how you benefit from being a member of FSP?
As a member, I have access to educational programs conducted by FSP meetings. I also get connected with other seasoned members and new members, which helps me collaborate on research and other opportunities.

What would you like to see occur in the field of pathology (i.e., scientific advances, greater awareness of the field, etc.) during your career?
I would like to see medical school rotation reforms where pathology rotations are provided as an important educational experience such that it will motivate more doctors to choose it as a part of the residency program.

What are your hobbies outside of the office?
I am an avid badminton player, and I represented my university in badminton during my medical school and residency training. I also love experimenting while cooking by fusing different cuisines. And I enjoy hiking and participating in outdoor activities.

What is something surprising that most people do not know about you?
Most people don't know that I am a foodie and love trying new restaurants while being a good critique of food.
