CAP Board of Governor elections are open and a candidate for re-election to the Board, Bharati S. Jhaveri, MBBS, FCAP, has requested FSP membership support. Please take action and let your representative know you support bill, HR 5721, and urge them to be a co-sponsor. Last year at this time the FSP was fighting draft LCD on special stains from First Coast Service Options, our Medicare carrier. This directly affects us as pathologists! The CAP, in concert with its coalition partners, has succeeded in getting legislation introduced by Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) and Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI) to fix the flawed Local Coverage Determination (LCD) process.
The Officers of the FSP have made recommendations for a revision of the current bylaws. The proposed bylaws changes will be voted on by the membership at the upcoming FSP Business Meeting which will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2016, during the FSP 2016 Summer Anatomic Pathology Conference in Palm Beach, Florida at the Four Seasons Resort. FSP is proud to announce that it will endorse two of its members, Rebecca L. Johnson, M.D. as candidate for delegate for AMA House of Delegates and Ronald F. Giffler, M.D. as candidate for FMA Vice President. Elections will take place at the upcoming Florida Medical Association meeting taking place on July 29-31, 2016, in Orlando, Florida.
