We invite you to join us in Palm Beach, Florida for the FSP's 2018 Summer Anatomic Pathology Conference taking place  on July 21-22 at the Breakers Hotel.

But most of all the FSP Summer Anatomic Pathology Conference will provide pathology education at its finest from a cadre of the most prominent leaders in our field. Hear timely and practical updates on breast pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and coagulation. Interact with other attendees and faculty during a read slides session on breast pathology covering HER2 IHC, HER2 FISH Equivocal cases.

Registration will open on Friday, July 20 and the first session begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, July 21 so we encourage you to book your hotel room from July 20-22 to enjoy the full conference and beautiful oceanfront resort.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the needs of practicing physicians, pathologists, and other specialists involved with anatomic pathology.

STATEMENT OF NEED
The field of anatomic pathology is constantly changing, and many of the most important advances in the field. In the setting of new technology, techniques and advancements in the field, practice gaps are inevitable. As such, pathologists require ongoing educational opportunities to stay current in order to maintain and improve their knowledge and competence in the field.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, all participants should be able to:

  • Explain the diagnostic features and clinical significance of atypical ductal hyperplasia and low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ with particular reference to the implications of these diagnoses in core need biopsy
  • Describe the clinical significance of lobular carcinoma in situ (LC(S) with particular reference to non-classical variants
  • Discuss the diagnostic features and differential diagnoses of recently described lesions of the breast
  • Examine how to approach the diagnosis of Barrett’s esophagus and Barrett’s associated dysplasia
  • Appraise the differential diagnoses of small bowel biopsies with villous abnormalities
  • Describe the classification and diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of the large intestine
  • Analyze the current clinical coagulation and platelet testing landscape
  • Explain the reasoning behind using coagulation and platelet function testing and how established evidence aligns or doesn’t align with current practice
  • Analyze treatment plans for patients through case scenarios
