Another successful annual conference is in the books for FSP. This year’s annual conference had record-breaking numbers with 260 attendees and 44 exhibitors. It was held on February 17-19 at the Grand Floridian Hotel in Orlando. Attendees were pleased with the presentations from nationally-acclaimed faculty, the new digital poster hall, and the many opportunities for networking and socializing with their colleagues and peers.

The American Board of Pathology (ABP), Tampa, FL, announced the election of the following officers for 2017 and congratulated Doctors Kaul, Swerdlow and Fuhrman for their reelection to a third term and Doctors Ashwood and Jones to a second term as Trustee. The ABP, Tampa, FL, also announced the election of two new Trustees for terms beginning in 2017.

The FSP Nominating Committee, chaired by Immediate Past President Brett Cantrell, MD recommends the following slate of candidates for Officers and At-Large Member Board positions for the 2017-2019 term. The membership will vote on this slate during the Annual Business Meeting to be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in conjunction with the FSP 2017 Annual Anatomic Pathology Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The Florida Society of Pathologists (FSP) will host a Fellowship Fair and Resident Forum during a cocktail reception at the 43rd Annual Anatomic Pathology Conference on Saturday, February 18 from 5:00-6:00 pm at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

In attendance and representing the Florida Delegation were Doctors Marylin Bui, Rebeca Johnson, Anne Champeaux, Emmanuel Agosto-Arroyo, Stephen Vernon, Harvey Feld, Jim Zhai, Patti Gregg, Marino Leon and Antonio Martinez.

The 2017 Florida Society of Pathologists (FSP) Resident Poster Competition for the Florida Society of Pathologists 2017 Annual Anatomic Pathology Conference, February 17-19, at the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort will start accepting submissions soon. In 2017, the Resident Poster Competition is going digital. Posters will be displayed in the digital poster hall on Saturday, February 18, during the conference.

FSP signs on to cosponsor H.R. 5721, the Local Coverage Determination and Clarification Act in collaboration with the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

CAP Board of Governor elections are open and a candidate for re-election to the Board, has requested FSP membership support. Please exercise your important vote for the CAP Board of Governors. The decisions made by the Board affect pathologists nationally.

There wasn’t an empty seat in the room for the FSP 2016 Summer Anatomic Conference which was held on July 23-24 in Palm Beach at the Four Seasons. With a record breaking attendance of 115 attendees, the Summer Conference delivered a jam packed weekend of education, networking and a little bit of fun as well.
