FSP attends FMA Annual Meeting and House of Delegates Meeting in Orlando, Florida

FSP's delegates to the FMA, Dr. Harvey Feld, Dr. Antonio Martinez, and Dr. Patricia Moody McNab attended the Florida Medical Association 2019 Annual Meeting and House of Delegates on August 9-11 in Orlando, Florida to represent our membership and pathologists from the state of Florida.

FSP Member Spotlight | Get to Know Qihui "Jim" Zhai, MD, FCAP

This month we are featuring Qihui "Jim" Zhai, MD, FCAP. Dr. Zhai serves on the FSP Board of Directors and is currently President-Elect and Chair of the Education Committee. Dr. Zhai is running for the CAP Board of Governors during this election cycle beginning July 23rd, 2019.  We are proud to support his efforts joining CAP’s leadership. ACTION ALERT- Oppose Surprise Billing Legislation in the Senate

All CAP Members should have received a CAP ACTION ALERT last week requesting you to contact your senators and urge them to oppose the Lower Health Care Costs Act of 2019 (S. 1895). We strongly encourage FSP Members to TAKE ACTION now and respond to the alert sent by CAP using the customized letters sent by CAP to contact your local senators.

Legislative Update: 2019 Florida Legislative Session Has Ended

The 2019 Florida legislative session has officially ended on Saturday, May 5th, a day later than originally scheduled due to delayed budget negotiations. The FSP had a great deal of issues we were working on, but altogether we came out unscathed this Session.

ABPath Statement on Vision Commission Recommendations

The Continuing Board Certification: Vision for the Future Commission released its final report on February 12, 2019 to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Board of Directors. The report included a set of recommendations and calls on ABMS boards to make continuing certification programs more meaningful, relevant and of value to key stakeholders.
